Had Brendan and friends out today- made our bait relatively quick. Fishing was lackluster at best we had some bites and landed a couple but left a lot to be desired. Hopefully this blow will shake things up

We must be in a faze right now not seeing Seatrout or Redfish or Flounder in the backwater. Water temps are hovering right around 80 degrees and even though we're getting some fish we just aren't seeing bragging rights fish unless you wanted to count the 13 Mangrove Snapper we caught today! I had met Chris Pyle and his fishing buddy Byron down at...

We are enjoying the weather and reduced flows. The “sharks teeth” of early spring are smoothing out. I’m waiting for my sweet spot of 300cfs. Color is good. As seasonal creeks come down the main river is less tan because … Continue reading →

Thursday May 9 2024 Fishing Report These summer like temps are getting us in a fishy mood. If only the water temps would catch up! Lots to report but most importantly there are still plenty of big Bluefish all over. From the surf to the sound it’s not hard to find one these last few […]

Guntersville has really turned on in the last few days with the much needed rain and current. I guided 4 days this week and the catch rates improved daily. There is always a shallow bite in a grass lake and that is evident at the moment but now there is a deep bite as well. We averaged 20 fish landed on 5 hour trips this week and some days our be...

Yesterday’s wind was tough. Nymphing and swinging wets were the best options unless you found a good place to hide from it. Today already looks better with cooler temps less wind and an overcast sky. We may see a few showers this afternoon but total rainfall should be negligible. There may be a little over …

Charts: The charts are indicating that on Saturday there’ll be a large high pressure system centred near Tasmania extending a ridge along the Qld Coast which will generate SE winds. On Sunday indications are that the centre of the high should move east across the Tasman Sea which should decrease the ridge along the southern… Continue reading Issue...

May 8 2024 GOOD. Water stained; 75 degrees; 0.34 feet above pool. Lake Conroe is temporarily closed due to recent flooding. Until we can get out on the water this is what we believe the fish will be doing. Catfish should be staging to spawn after the water settles. Look for structure holding bait. Guntersville in May can be a lot of fun but it can also challenge your skill set. There are 3 completely different patterns emerging. Deep ledges are starting to fire when the current is rolling. Bream beds are a great way to get a lot of bites and the shad spawn can be the deal in the early morning hours. I did 3 guide trips this week and the nu...

I fished today after we had a slight temperature drop over the weekend one that caused the water temps to fall too. We didn't tear them up today but we had a little better action than we had last week in the backwaters.  When I pulled away from the boat ramp this afternoon my thoughts were to fish the oyster beds. I met Frank Wytiaz and his broth...
